“Assyrian Folk Tales” is a compilation of the Assyrian (Syriac-Chaldean) language and culture, which are on the verge of disappearing, and in order to ensure the survival of their own unique tales being told from language. The book, in which author and compiler Bedri Bet-Hurmuz brings together the folktale heritage of his own community, includes illustrations specific to the tales and sets out with the goal of ensuring the recognition of the culture by translating it into many languages.
